Georgia is stupid. Why do we elect so many horrible politicians? Oh yeah, it's because they have an Read More(R) after their names.

In light of last nights gunfire around Plaza Fiesta (and other recent shootings and late nightRead Moregunf ire in the area), maybe Chamblee and Brookhaven could work together and coordinate some police roadblocks. (please)

They are slime. Got rid of them years ago after an installer tracked something in that ruined theRead Morefi nish on my vintage heart pine floors. Will be doing a happy dance when they are out of buisness. Use Netflix and Hulu.

Phyllis, unfortunately they will probably not go out-of-business because they are huge and aRead Moremonopol y, so customer services will not get any better either. I mainly needed them because of poor TV reception in my area, but I can live without them. Yes, they are a monopoly and are owned by many investment companies. You can Google, "Who owns Comcast." You can also go to Facebook, in search enter Comcast and click on the first Comcast icon where you will see, slightly hidden, comments to them from customers. There is also another icon, which is self-explanatory. Imagine what they will be like when the Time Warner acquisition is done. YIKES!

We have AT&T DSL (U-verse is not available), and I'll tell you why. We had all kinds ofRead Moreproblems with Comcast broadband. Every afternoon it would go out, so we'd have to take off from work for a technician who came by and saw no problems--they were coming in the morning when service was fine. So finally we decided to switch to AT&T DSL for our internet, and cut back to basic local channels on Comcast. My husband was heading to work and saw a Comcast guy on the side of the house who said "I took care of your problem." We tried to watch TV and got no reception. I called for service and in the meantime realized that the reason we didn't have service was that there was a five foot chunk cut out of the cable wire. The technician came by, was surprised at that, so he called in to the dispatcher, who told him that it was cut because our wiring was causing trouble for the whole neighborhood. They wanted $150 to rewire our house. I told the dispatcher there was no way, when we had been begging for help for an entire year and then they do this to us. She told me that if I didn't agree to have my house rewired, I would never again get Comcast service. I told her not only to stuff that wire, but that as long as I am alive, Comcast will never again be in my house. Heck, I told her that if I have a friend who is employed by Comcast, that person will not be allowed to cross my threshold. I told her that I would tell everyone I know about what horrible people they are and I have. It's been over 10 years. We get our TV from antennas. AT&T DSL can barely be described as high speed. But I have gotten a lot of people to drop Comcast.

I agree. It's one thing to raise animals for food (though I am a vegan and I live a very good lifeRead Morew ithout exploiting animals), but it's entirely another thing to torture animals for entertainment the way circuses and water parks like Sea World do.

I'm sorry to say this and am sorry for all the folks who were laid off, but AOL is a terribleRead Morecompan y with a hateful CEO in the person of Tim Armstrong, who blamed benefits cuts on distressed newborns and fires people in the middle of conference calls. Mr. Eric, Brookhaven now has a crime mapping feature on their website. The two incidents areRead Morelisted but, for details, you will have to purchase the incident reports. Hey, we gotta make money any way we can! Anything else you want to know about your city? Special hamburger and a Cheerwine?
Eric H January 10, 2014 at 10:05 PM
Hamburger I'm aware of the crime mapping. That's not the way to push information out. Putting aRead Moresket ch of the perpetrators on the website, or pushing the information out to media outlets and on facebook is the way to do it. They do it when the police make a unique arrest or when the bank gets robbed. True you can't get do this for every crime. But this is different because it appears to be two different incidents on the same street by the same 3 people. Surely we should try to get more information out there about these 3 people. That's the benefit of a smaller more nimble Police Department, with a smaller jurisdictional area. Crime mapper is not a sufficient way to get this information out because of the apparent linkage.
HamBurger January 10, 2014 at 10:14 PM
Mr. Eric, I agree with you. Successful neighborhood policing includes sharing information, realRead Moretim e if possible. But, this is all we paid for. Special hamburger and a Cheerwine?
