Tom, give me a break. There are people in Chamblee , holding Chamblee back intentionally ,atRead Moreleast eastern 1/2 & the newly annexed area. If you have bought in an area that has basically been deserted of any development, then you might understand my concern. We are stuck in the Dresden, Montclair and Cross Keys underperforming schools. From the minute you cross into Chamblee boundary on P'tree all you see are 'available' and 'for lease' and 'for sale' signs. The downtown is vacant. The surrounding warehouses are vacant. The huge swath of land called the international village has sat vacant for 10 years. Looks like it now might become a solar farm. Councilman Thomas Hogan has stated he stands to profit substantially if this comes to fruition. Wonder how many JOBS this will bring to Chamblee, while filling Toms pockets? Whose gonna complain? Noone around that'speaks english , they won't care. Maybe one day the investigative reporters can come snoop around. The DECA neighborhoods are being turned over to investors. Why would the people help facilitate this ? I don't know that either. I assumed when I moved here, the prosperity of Brookhaven would flow over, but have since learned the folks building in Brookhaven refuse to build in Chamblee! Tom , while you hang out at the Chamblee ice cream caboose, you'll find me in Roswell or Decatur. Cheers!

Mary, so I guess now I see what is the root of the issue. You want GOVERNMENT as opposed to private Read Morebusiness to make life better in Chamblee. We see how that usually works out don't we? So all of my life I do something. I hate something, I work to make it better. I complain about something, I work to make it better. The foundational untruths that underpin all of your Chamblee hating? Hard to argue with you. So if I point out businesses that are doing well, you tear into corrupt government. If I quote to you that census data reveals less poverty in Chamblee than Smyrna, you shout "lies!" If I point out that naturalized citizens in the 100s live in chamblee, you point out illegals, even though the problem of illegals #wise is much much worse in marietta, for example. When I point out that Chamblee's reserves are in the millions, and the city isn't "broke" as you proclaim, you deny and redirect. Thanks for playing.

In light of last nights gunfire around Plaza Fiesta (and other recent shootings and late nightRead Moregunf ire in the area), maybe Chamblee and Brookhaven could work together and coordinate some police roadblocks. (please)
