Brookhaven Logo

At the Governor's Commission meeting Jed Beardsley (District 3 Representative) brought up the topic of a Brookhaven logo. It was mentioned that logo creation can be costly and that members of the Brookhaven Community might have some good ideas about what would make a great logo. If you have a good logo idea post it (or a link) in the comments.

I completely agree - that is a great idea. If there are parents out there who have children that want to participate start thinking about what you'd like the Brookhaven logo to look like.

to think that the old grouchy guy got angry really angry - about this discussion tells me that some council meetings will drag on late into the night in 2013. Reminds me of old fraternity meeting arguments over the color of the cup to be used at a social.

It's a logo DESIGNED BY A KID. It's not a redesign of the olympic game for cryin out loud!

I wonder how many kids will draw a stick figure holding a bag of hot air?

Why dont we worry about putting a friggin city together and save the dang fluff. Good lord. Are you people serious? We have a giant hill to climb and we are worried about a dadgum logo? Well hell. Why not a theme song too?

The end of the Incorporation was near
When quite accidentally,
A hero who sneezed abruptly seized
Retreat and reversed it to victory.

His medal of honor pleased and thrilled
his proud little family group.
While pinning it on some blood was spilled
And so it was planned he'd command Brookhaven.

Where HamBurger fights are colorful sights
and nobody takes a lickin'
Where J Max and Eddie
Both turn chicken.

When kicking and fighting get them down,
They know their morale can't droop.
As long as they all relax in town
Before they resume with a bang and a boom
Brookhaven!

Ms. Jane, thank you for the memories. It was simple and silly, but life was a whole lot less complicated back then.

Thank you.

Please pass the yellow mustard!

Are we talking High School or Kindergarten?

I agree the logo should come later. After all if the finances turnout to be as bad as some say it will be we'll want a logo that looks good in Black and White.......

To Eric @ 7:33pm --

Didn't Dunwoody spend a couple of hundred thousand on branding and a logo and signage, only to find out the citizens didn't like what they came up with? Since our potential city leaders seem intent on following the likes of Dunwoody and Sandy Springs, I would expect no less.

Mr. BM, the Smart People spent $40,000 plus only to have their logo rejected by their citizens.

Will we take our lead from one of the cities that promoted us? The Smart People?

Yes we will have to make sure our elected officials stay true to their stated mindset of being fiscal hawks who will question every expenditure.

Though I also want them to be socially progressive and embrace the diversity of the city's population and recognize we are inside 285 between the City and the large Perimeter CID Urban Activity Center.

There's room to protect the integrity of the single family subdivisions but we also have to accommodate the growth of the region and steer some of it inside our borders. We don't want to just be a doormat that people are just cutting through to get somewhere else.
