Pilot In Plane Crash: I Felt 'Rushed' To Land

The pilot in a June crash at PDK Airport told investigators he felt pressure to land his craft quickly.

The pilot involved in a June 18, 2012, plane crash at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport has told investigators he felt "rushed" to land his craft because of a nearby plane that was also preparing to land.

According to Reporter Newspapers, the National Transportation Safety Board report of the crash said the pilot told officials he felt pressure to land his Hawker Beechcraft 400A because of a nearby Cessna also planning to land.

“The pilot-in-command (PIC) advised the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector-in-charge that the Cessna airplane was a distraction, and he felt rushed to land the airplane,” the report says.

Two passengers were injured in the accident.
