No Rebuttals in Brookhaven's First Mayoral Forum
Brookhaven's very first mayoral candidate forum went out without a hitch last night.
Brookhaven's first ever mayoral debate concluded on Wednesday night before 9 p.m. without a single rebuttal.
The forum, hosted by the Ashford Park Civic Association and the Drew Valley Civic Association, took place at Ashford Park Elementary at 7 p.m. Wednesday. About 70 people attended the event and about a dozen of them asked questions of the candidates.
The three candidates– Larry Danese, J. Max Davis and Sandy Murray–were permitted to offer a rebuttal if another candidate mentioned them by name during a response to any question.
However, that never happened and in fact, the candidates often found points on which to agree.
"I thought it went really well," said Erica Mymudes, treasurer for the APCA. "I was happy there were no personal attacks. I'm very excited to be a part of it."
Attached are the closing statements from each of the mayoral candidates. Brookhaven Patch will continue to bring you updates about the forum throughout the day.
