New Town Brookhaven Retailer Hopes for 'Whimsical' Experience

Five questions with ... Rebecca Puig, owner of Sugarboo Designs.

One of the newest retailers moving into Town Brookhaven is Sugarboo Designs. Here are Five Questions With ... Rebecca Puig, owner of the store.

1. So tell us about this new Town Brookhaven business.

Rebecca: We are opening Sugarboo & Co. in May of this year. Our main goal is that when people come in the store they have a fun experience. The store will be a little taste of everything-- old and new, vintage and modern, traditional and unconventional, but most of all whimsical. We will have a large variety of goods for all occasions. We want to be known as a one stop shop-- whatever gift you need, we hope you can find at Sugarboo & Co. We will have art, pillows, paper goods, jewelry, pet goods, kid goods, home accessories, garden do-dads, things you need, and things you don't need, but want!

2. Care to share anything about your background?

Rebecca: We started as an art company 8 years ago (sugarboo designs) selling my art to stores across the country and also internationally.  We found so many cool artisans and amazing things on our travels that we are excited to share with everyone.

3. What's your timetable for opening?

Rebecca: We are opening in May of 2013 - planning on middle of May.

4. Any specials that you'll be offering in conjunction with your grand opening?

Rebecca: Yes!  We will be giving a gift with every purchase over $20.00.  We will also have yummy food and tasty beverages and good music at the grand opening... more details to follow!

5. Finally, why Town Brookhaven specifically, and Brookhaven, GA, in general?

Rebecca: We used to live close to that area and I always loved it.  We are not able to live there because we love the schools our kids are in, but we are there in spirit!  We think that the families in that area are open minded and well traveled and will appreciate the goods we have to offer from near and far.
