How to Volunteer for Brookhaven Commission Committees

There are several ways to get involved, just be specific and get ready to go to work for Brookhaven!

There are several ways to get involved in the 10 committees established by the Governor's Commission on Brookhaven.

1. Show up.

You can always just show up at a meeting of the committee for which you want to volunteer. You can find announcements of these meetings here on Brookhaven Patch and on the Brookhaven Commission website, the Brookhaven Commission Facebook page and the Brookhaven Commission's Twitter feed.

2. Fill out a volunteer form.

The Brookhaven Commission's website now has a form for anyone interested in volunteering. The form can be found under "volunteer registration" on the site.

When filling out the form, be as specific as possible.

3. Offer input.

Maybe you're not interested in volunteering for a committee, but in getting involved or lending your talents and skills in another way. If so, just shoot an email to brookhavencommission@gmail.com. Every email sent to this address becomes public record and is subject to public records law. Also, this email account is monitored regularly, but not 24 hours a day.

I think that don G and HamBurger would make a great audit team for the Governor's Brookhaven Parks Commission. :-)

The commission website is all messed up. Contact links are down. Forms are failing to send, and there is only a mailing address, no phone contact #.

I would then go to option #3 listed above and send an email.
