1. Weather - It's umbrella time, Brookhaven. The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 102 so stay cool and stay dry.
2. It's the first day of school for DeKalb Public School Students. Parents, students are to report back to school at 8 a.m. Click here to read the welcome back letter from the superintendent.
3. Grab a friend or two and get your exercise on today at Lynwood Park Recreation Center for adult free play basketball all day.
4. Join Dennis Palmer for this high intensity kick-boxing series on Monday at 4 p.m. at Body Vision Studio. Cost for Series: $150, Single Session: $20
5. Video Camp is underway for kids ages 10-14, M-F, August 8-12 at the Coward Family YMCA. Campers will learn how to shoot and edit video using the Y's MacLab. Instructors will teach the proper steps involved in video production. The camps cost $175 for facility members and $200 for program members for the week. Kids can be dropped off between 7-9am and picked up between 4-6:30 p.m. Campers will enjoy other activities such as swimming, songs and additional camp games.
