The council is also expected to appoint a new city clerk at its regular meeting on Tuesday night, Nov. 20.
The Chamblee City Council is set to vote on a new contract to improve and upgrade its 911 call system at its regular monthly meeting tonight.
Also on the agenda is the appointment of a new city clerk, a position that has been vacant since March 2012.
Chamblee's 911 system was last upgraded in 2008. The city is examining a contract with a company called Intrado to upgrade its 911 system software and some hardware at an expense of not more than $40,499.
Other items on the council's agenda include approving the disposal of a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria surplus police vehicle. Chamblee city staff is recommending that Brown & Brown Auto Service auction off the vehicle.
The council will meet at 7:30 pm at the Chamblee Civic Center.
