Brookhaven Will Patch Its First Pothole on Friday

Locations have yet to be announced, and Brookhaven Patch wants to know what potholes you'd like repaired first.

The new of Brookhaven will patch its first pothole on Friday, Jan. 18.

According to a spokesperson for the city, the location and time of the first set of repairs should be announced Wednesday afternoon.

Last summer, Patch began running a series of articles based on recommendations from readers about road repairs that really needed to be addressed.

With Tuesday's announcement, we'd like to hear from you: what potholes or repairs would you like to see on the list of improvements? Give us your list and share your thoughts in the Comments section below.

I don't want a pothole repaired, I want a car/tank trap moved ! It is a storm drain on the same side of the road as the Brookhaven Library about a 1/2 mile before you get to the library if you are approaching it from the east. It's beside the church playground area. The storm drain is OUT IN THE STREET, not along the curb where it should be. I'm wary of it now but I hit it squarely one night when I couldn't see it. Since the drain is depressed in the pavement it almost tore the tire off the right front end of my car. J. Max Davis and Rebecca Chase Williams please make this a priority. Your humble servant, Political Gadfly.

Mr. PG, I put that there. It is my Gadfly catcher and it looks like it is doing what it was designed to do!

Please pass the yellow mustard!

Know it well. Have hit it enough times now to know it's location in the dark.

HamBurger your message reminds me of the ones that teenagers post on the ESPN sports blogs. They get accused of living in their mother's basement. I hope you live upstairs so that it's easier to get to your burger grill.

Mr. PG, old man that drain has been there for years and is positioned to eliminate a large puddle that used to collect there. Maybe you need newer glasses?

Complain on the Patch if you must, but the remedy is to contact your new city and have the grate elevated to road level. If the city does not take over roads next week then you may have to contact that horrid DeKalb County!

Please repair the large hole on the right side of the road at the intersection of Ashford Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry. It is on Johnson Ferry right before it merges with AD.

Which road is it on and which merge? East (Corner pizza)? West (park)?

HamBurger do you know where I can get a pair of rose colored glasses that will take me back to the 1950's where all I had to worry about was if the Commies in Moscow were going to bomb my grammar school in Charlotte. I'm not sure if a fellow alum from that school, Billy Graham, was worried about that. His parents owned a dairy farm was just around the corner from the school.

Mr. PG, sorry, I am all out of that model. My best to Billy.

However, I have a new shipment of rose coulored glasses that will shield you from the cost of that adult entertainment lawsuit that may be coming down the pike for our little burg. Did you hear Attorney Begner speak at the city council meeting last night?

Get your special hamburger while you can!

I have lived 11/2 Blocks from the Pink Pony for 28 years. To the best of my knowledge they pay their taxes on time and have never caused any trouble in this neighborhood. It is time for you people to wake up and not cram your narrow views down every ones throat. We live in a large metropolitian city - Not Mayberry. For your information I have never been inside the Pink Pony

Mr. Richard, look at some of the “new cities” and see how they have handled the issue of adult oriented businesses. For a while, and at a cost, Johns Creek had a go at it. Sandy Springs is still dealing with it. So, who made money from it? And, who paid for it?

When it comes to check writing time, remember that your elected officials live around the corner from you or shop at your neighborhood grocery stores. Folks would not involve themselves with DeKalb County; will they give their Brookhaven elected officials a piece of their mind and sue them for their tax losses? But, console yourselves, we have our own city now!

And, all the more reason to participate in your new government. Your new city is like one massive HOA that you may have tried to avoid by being in unincorporated DeKalb!

Just as a side note, I learned something today.

I was at the hardware store and there was a discussion about the rush hour back-up and related pedestrian and traffic issues at Peachtree and N. Druid Hills. This lady was fuming mad because earlier last year after the traffic signal project on Peachtree had been completed she complained to DeKalb about light coordination, turn lane issues relating to MARTA and McDonalds from the south bound turn lane to N. Druid Hills, and illegal pedestrian traffic. She was told that DeKalb County was in the process of a study when some do-good group from Brookhaven asked them to put their activities on hold so they could make their own recommendations on the matter.

Meanwhile, they have sat on their Royal Arses allowing a colossal traffic impediment to continue for several months.

Well? Is y’alls Special Brookhaven Arses ready to make the situation better? The motoring public wants to know! If not, go to the hardware store under cover and listen. Folks have opinions on what should be done!

Or, should we consider this Brookhaven under J. Max Davis at its best?

Do gooder?

Is that really an appropriate term for a group that wrecks a progressive situation to return to their antebellum dreams?

Always nice to read HamburgerPatch. Always good for hearsay information, assumptions, innuendo, conspiracies, sarcasm and basicaly psycho-entertainment.

Wish there were more facts...but people have jobs and cannot post as often (or realize that these boards are almost chat rooms for 8 people).

Imagine complaining about Brookhaven before bad things have happened (theirr assumption)--but supporting the Dekalb status quo (and lamenting Brookhaven's formation) where bad things continually happen.

Mr. Phil, folks would be amazed at the assistance they can receive or information that can be learned if they just pick up the phone. I am amused that more people don’t do it.

By the way, how are those city council meetings working out for you?
