Vote was too close to be a good thing, its like the rest of our country DEVIDED. It was forced by the powers in charge.
Good luck.

Hi.. don’t get me wrong, I hope those that worked so hard will make it great... that’s their job now. However... as I heard in the public meetings that I attended, it was rushed on the "normal" residents. I live in the unaffected area of Historic Brookhaven and felt that they stole the name… like so many others, which was the justification. It is strange to divide our neighborhood, but that’s what you get for living on a county line ;-) I hope it all works out.

Good morning. I have a question that I don't remember being discussed. Will address changes have to be made for all of our personal records, credit cards, correspondence etc, from Atlanta to Brookhaven? Is there a time period to change our addresses or will the mail still be delivered if addressed "Atlanta" and not Brookhaven? Thank you.

Mr. EPU, no, you can use Atlanta, Brookhaven, or simply use only the zip code as addresses are actually zip code driven.

Me? I am going to show the appropriate tribute and change all my records to state Jacobsville!

Please pass the yellow mustard!

No, the post office makes that determination. Sandy Springs and Dunwoody still have Atlanta designations. Johns Creek has Suwanee and Alpharetta.

city manager's hourly rate = $200/hr ... http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/city-of-brookhaven-open-for-business/nTYKZ/ "Some decisions, though, have been made quickly with no public input. Last week, the council hired Marie Garrett as interim city manager, a role she held in the start-up of Johns Creek. The council also hired J.D. Clockadale,.. as a temporary deputy city manager.
For the work, Garrett will earn $200 an hour, or $8,000 for a full-time week. Clockadale will earn $2,500 a week."

Mayor Davis told constituents on Wednesday afternoon that once a permanent city manager is hired, which should be soon, then the search for a police chief and department will begin. Patch will be reporting on this item as our lead story on Thursday morning.
