Bad Girls Descend on Brookhaven

A long-running cable reality show focusing on rehabilitation of "bad girls" is taping in Brookhaven.

If you've noticed camera crews around town, it's probably not because they're filming the sequel to The Hunger Games, which was filmed locally.

Camera crews have been spotted outside the Sugar Shack filming the often volatile interactions of attractive young women who have been cast in the 10th season of the reality show, The Bad Girls Club, which airs on the Oxygen network.

The show is about the "rehabilitation" of self-admitted "bad girls" who volunteer to live in a decked-out mansion together in an attempt to change their wild ways of excessive drinking, fighting and being just overall rude and vulgar.

According to Atlanta entertainment columnist Rodney Ho, the show will be filming in the Brookhaven and Buckhead areas through Oct. 5.

The Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office "heard Atlanta possesses a huge viewing audience for this show," he wrote.

Is this show something you want in Brookhaven? What do you think? Will the show affect Brookhaven's image?

I am NOT happy about this in the least! I'm glad we are becoming a city and I hope that it will provide us the ability to make it necessary to get the residents approval before allowing things like this!

Riiiight Janet - the city will have a voter referendum before it allows any film crew here! That's a dumb statement. Perhaps E Pluribus is correct in his statement.

I do not recall having a referendum on whether or not Brookhaven would be the site for a stupid reality show. Did you vote on it, EPU? Of course not. The "voting populationiof idiots" had no input into a TV producer's decision. Maybe the County Government is at fault? (just joking)

Phil, I did go too far in my frustration with Bad Girls...uncalled for. What is bothersome is this reality show has a 10 year life cycle. WTHeck is that about? Maybe I've missed something in the article's description, but how can anyone watch a show that plays into "women are sluts, bad, and low life" in a society that already feeds off sexual objectification of women? Are men and women really watching this horsecrap? I realize we have many more "reality" shows that play off and into the lowest conditions and mindsets in life....no wonder we have lost our global position with respect to math, science, reading, and HS and college graduation rates. And as clarification, I am including whites, blacks, and any ethnic group whose youth are interested in this mind numbing trash.

You want City....City gets you Bad Girls Club. Atlanta House wives are actually worst in my humble opinion. With Bad Girls Club the women don't pretend to be anything but what they are.

As there is no city the permission and permit we're issued at either state and/or county government levels.

Please direct your comments as you see fit, but look before you "snipe".
