New Google Map of Brookhaven Districts

The PDF of the 4 Brookhaven Districts is sometimes a bit hard to read. We've recreated the map in Google Maps which show all four districts for everyone to use. You can see the new app on my Facebook page:

Ms. Bawcom --

Hard to tell from the maps I've seen, so thought I'd ask you directly:

Is the city boundary along Interstate 85 the inner edge of the interstate right of way (I.e., the edge closest to the city), or is it the middle of the highway, or is it the outer edge of the road?

Same question applies to Interstate 285, please.

Thank you.

Hi Maven how was your holiday weekend?

It is my understanding that the district lines are inside of 85 and 285.

The actual PDF file of the Brookhaven Map exist on various sites including this site: http://documents.clubexpress.com/documents.ashx?key=3vn0f4rccLI%2bPJ3%2bO2iTAiT2ALMx%2fNbBYzlaiz7BIAkkR7BAH7CR2Q%3d%3d Or go to Murpheycandler.net and click the first hyper link that says Brookhaven.

Though I note this map incorrectly draws the 85 border to indicate 85 is in the city. However this map is not the official boundary description. The official boundary description is contained in the charter, and pursuant to the City Charter I85 is not in the city of Brookhaven. Also 285 is not in the city of Brookhaven, it is entirely in Dunwoody. Brookhaven will have no policing responsibility for any interstate highways.

City Charter is available here http://documents.clubexpress.com/documents.ashx?key=C4bOvXU7acYlEDKS%2bLAJyLOu6Q7a%2fRbT
or go to the city charter link on the bottom of the murpheycandler.net website. Or go to the document section of that website.

Thanks Eric. Better use the "official" maps instead of a "homegrown" one if people are supposed to use it to find out what district they live in.

Thank you Ms. Bawcom and Mr. Hovdesven. The official map which Mr. H directed me to shows I-285 to be outside of the city limits, but it shows I-85 to be inside those limits. The google map Ms. B has provided also shows I-85 to be inside the limits.

Do you suppose Mike Jacobs might be persuaded to provide a CLEAR final map of the actual city (and precinct) boundaries? It would be nice to see one that actually matches up to the description given in the charter.

And, just think . . . Many folks wanted to have a revised Vinson study so they could be certain the finances of the new city would work . . .

Please pass the yellow mustard!

Ms. Bawcom : I don't see the Brookhaven you describe. I went to your facebook page and found a map. I don't see any delineation of boundries or the four districts of Brookhaven. Would it not be a good idea to get a regular Google map which you have and delineate all of this. The pdf seems to run many roads in strange ways and hard to figure out even with a magnifying glass. Another question: I think Chamblee- Dunwoody road and Clairmont road are both boundries of Brookhaven. What city would patrol those roads, Chamblee or Brookhaven?
